Stockport Police - Domestic Violence Unit

Stockport Police have a dedicated unit specifically to deal with all domestic violence issues.

The Domestic Violence Unit is currently staffed by a sergeant, three constables and one administrator police staff on a part time basis.

The unit reviews all domestic incidents reported on the division to assess risk and victim needs. There are over 5,000 domestic incidents reported in Stockport per year.

The Domestic Violence Unit supports victims and witnesses through the criminal justice system and gives advice and information on legal, security and other matters.

The unit works closely with local partner agencies and supports the DAF.
