Page Title - Drug & Alcohol Misuse

Domestic abuse is closely linked to use of drugs and alcohol.

The abuser might only be violent when he/she is under the influence or may drink to forget the harm they are causing.

Equally the victim or the children might use drugs or alcohol to help them cope with the situation or in later life when the effects of abuse/ witnessing abuse can still be felt.

There is a lot of help and support available if you are concerned about your use of alcohol or drugs.

You can also speak to the services if you are worried about someone else.

Please contact 0161 474 3141 or visit www.stockportdrugsandalcohol.org for details of a range of services available in Stockport for young people, adults, their families and carers. All services are free and confidential.
